I am youA Poem by Ahmad CoxI am you by Ahmad Cox Hello How are you doing Whoever you are I know that you are out there You are the one who never seemed to fit in You are the one who never seemed to get anything right Who felt like you never really mattered Or like life is just some cruel joke You Who felt like the best way to deal with things Was to numb the pain To hold it inside To bottle it up So that it doesn't come out You Who might not trust people And feels like the best way to protect themselves is to shield their heart You Who are jaded, And pained And have been lost in the rain And has ever lost their way And don't quite know when things will get better I am you I know how you feel I was the person I am that person I feel your pain I know who you are And I know how hard it can be sometimes To really know what it's like To actually step into the light And even comprehend That life can get better That someone could actually understand That you are actually worth living That you are worth anything at all I know you I am you And I say this with every last ounce of my strength And every last ounce of my life When I say that life is always worth living Sometimes it can be hard to see when you are going through the rain And when it seems like black clouds and darkness is all you can see But every life means something You just have to believe
