A Woman's Flight Chapter 17

 As they started to leave the dorms and actually head toward the dining room Rebecca was taken aback by the size of the dining area. She had seen it in the brochure, but she didn’t expect it to look as impressive at it did. Her current roommate issues disappeared as she basked in the idea that she was going to be eating in a hall this nice. You could tell Ashley was impressed as well. Alice just looked up with this look of wide eyed wonder as more people started to poor in the common dining hall. Rebecca was most impressed by how many different types of people she saw. Some people were identifiably asian, while there were quite a bit of students that looked like they were of middle eastern descent. She could see some black and mexicans here and there, but she was most surprised to see how many asians and middle eastern people there were. 

         She wondered if they had all come from different parts of the world or if they had lived in America there whole lives and just transferred in from different parts of California. In her town in Texas, you might see your occasional black person that would come through. Every once in awhile you might see a mexican here or there, but she had never come into contact with so many different types of people in one place. It was overwhelming but wonderful at the same time. She wanted to say hello to all of them and to know all their stories. There was a part of her that wanted to know if everyone  had come from as far as she had or if they had lived in California their whole lives. As Rebecca made her way into the actual dining room, Ashley made a high pitch squeal. She almost knocked Rebecca over as she bolted through the dining hall. At the end of the hall was a girl who was a little shorter, just as blonde, and just as thin as Ashley.
