Madness repliesA Poem by Ahira JenFirst poem, still trying hard.Tall,
beautiful and slender Many
wish they were her Perfect
in every feature From
looks to books Even
from friends to family She is
the embodiment of a “perfect” woman
She has
a family A
family of 3 Husband
and twins As
perfect as thee But in
their humble abode Oh so
she thought was safe Hid a
sinister grin Lurking
within their grace
Many
knew of her story Not
many of her tale A tale
where only she knows And a
tale where only she shows To the
people who were as cunning As the
twisted vines entwining bodies
Through
the looking glass she sees A
perfect husband at ease In his
comfortable chair Oh so
he laid Until
death struck him on his head
Madness, she thought Oh what have I done? Simon and Maddie will find out That daddy has taken a break A break from us Into a broken bed without its flowers But flowers it shall have
Simon
and Maddie oh so cheery Were in
their room while mommy was busy Footsteps
echoed The door
creaked With a swift
cut from the gardener’s sheers Wilted,
she held The
flowers of their future
She
called out: Madness! Madness! What have I done? Madness
