Chapter 4 - One More Round Sis! (Part 2)

A Chapter by Ahira Jen

The duel started. I was quick on my keyboard but not as fast as my sister. While I was busy typing in key commands into my character, I could hear Kurumi’s fingers frantically running on the keyboard. Tat-tak-tat-tek-tet-tat-tek, her input speed was so fast.

Blades crossed and spells were casted. The voices of our character’s shouts and chants could be heard through the speakers of our electronic gadgets.

The character my sister created for me was a tanker and stamina type. High health points and stamina whereas low on magical points which are used for casting spells. My choice of weapon was a long sword and my only defence was a small round yet durable shield. My speed was not that fast therefore I relied on big and powerful swings when my enemy was in range, taking them out in one swift blow.

My sister’s character was an agility type. Swift of its feet and accuracy was its main game. Armed with dual edged daggers ready to cut down anything in front of them and having a passable amount of magical points able to cast minor immobility spells makes the perfect character for my sister to use.

Kurumi casted an immobility spell at my character, binding it to the ground for 10 seconds. “Smart move, sis.” I said, feeling a little irritated with the spell that she had casted. Kurumi replied, “Why thank you, now for a slashing spree.” Her character charged at mine and the blades slashed through my character at lightning speed.

I regained mobility short after and delivered a powerful swing at her character. Kurumi’s reflexes were fast and her character managed to dodge the fatal attack, “That was close.”

“It won’t be next time,” I said as I advanced towards her character, ready to strike when it was within my range. Kurumi giggled and mumbled, “But I have a trick of my sleeve…”

“What did you say, Kurumi? I didn’t hear you just-”

Before I could finish my sentence my character collapsed to the ground and the duel ended. “What just happened…?” I asked, dumbfounded.

Kurumi replied with a smile, “I won the duel.

“Wait, how?! I could’ve swore I had my eyes glued on the movements of both our characters and I didn’t even see your character flinch before the duel ended.”

“I told you I had a trick up my sleeve,” she giggled, “Let’s go and have dinner now. I think our food as turned cold.” She got up and walked towards the door.

Before she could leave, I shouted, “One more round sis!”
