Ossyria - The Other SideA Story by Ahira JenRead the story from the boy's perspective “Darn, where
did I put the last one?” Finny flipped his bed, “I could’ve swore I put in
around here somewhere…!” Finny continued to frantically ransack his entire room
but the last potion could not be seen anywhere. “I can’t go back to Ellin
without it, she needs it.” Determined to find the last one Finny rushed out of
his room only to bump into an old man wearing a navy blue robe with yellow
linings. In his left
hand the old man held an old wooden staff spired at the top. In his right hand
he held his spell book, containing all of his spells he has written and
complied over the years of his life. He held out
his hand and pat Finny on his head, “Finny, why are you in a rush?” Finny
swiped the old man’s hand away, “I have no time for you! I need to find an all
cure potion for Ellin!” “Ellin…?” “Yes, Ellin!
My newfound fairy friend! She needs the potion to cure an illness of a boy
named Rowen. You know Ellinia fairies can’t stand El Nath’s cold stormy
weather…I need to find it quick! I promised it to her…!” Finny said while
holding the urge to just burst out of his room with his angel wings. “Oh…don’t
worry, little one. I have something for you.” The old man gently tapped his
staff against the wooden flooring. Wood began to spiral up magically and into
the old man’s hand. “What are
you doing old geezer? I don’t have the time to watch you cough up one of your
magic tricks!” “Don’t you
want the potion?” “What…?” Finny looked
at the old man’s hand where the wood is on. The wood then began to take shape
of a bottle and soon the texture of a blue glass vial was seen from it. The old
man said some words and the wood let out a small spark. Finny jumped back from
the sudden shock. “Here, take
it.” The old man said while holding onto the glass vial, “This is what you
wanted right?” “Old
geezer…that was amazing!” Finny ran towards the old man and took the glass vial
from his hands, examining it carefully. “Is this the all cure potion?” “What else
could it be?” “Thank you
old geezer, I owe you one!” Finny spread out his angel wings and flew out of
his room and into the brewing storm.
“Young
people these days.” the old man let out a sigh before disappearing in a warm
cloud of light.
“I need to get to Ellin fast. A storm is coming and I hope the wolves don’t find her too…!” © 2015 Ahira Jen |
