Fall of an Empire

Fall of an Empire

Fall of an Empire

He got up

with blood dripping

not to mention

His skin ripping

His kingdom underwent stripping

the last of the men, hopes dripping

The rivals needed an extension

though they prayed to the ascension

Where the king dies the kingdom lies

unprotected from the allies

a new empire shall raise

from the grave of the previous lives

But he shall not die

to watch the rival take prize

the pride of wisdom, stay wise

don’t give up nor let out cries

Stay strong and protective he chants

as he rises for the blood of infants

born to wisdom a man shall serve,

serve till his people deserve

His pride he shall reserve

for days to come and preserve

honesty will observe

a dying king doesn't conserve

For his kingdom, people and love

his life, they deserve…

Thanks a lot !!!
A few of the rhymes might be a bit forced, but I do really like your rhyming scheme! And the way you have positioned your few un-rhymed lines makes them stand out I wish your people the best as you chose your leaders this coming May. Beautifully penned dear! Just loved it.

The mark of a true leader is his devotion and loyalty to his people. It is hard to come by one these days in any part of the world. I wish your people the best as you chose your leaders this coming May.

These are true word about war. Blood of children keep the hope of dead soldiers. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.

This would make a very good premise, poem or possibly even a prophecy for a fantasy novel
