Cliché

Cliché

A Poem by Ahena MK

Cliché

Dreams, are what fill her empty nights

Nights which would otherwise have no life

The dream to work,

           Dream to travel,

                   Dream to see the world

But stuck in here she is,

Bound in cement and bricks

With curtains shading every ray of hope

But still some enter from deep beneath

With the radio her only companion

As she waits for her children

The cliché of life has dug deep beneath

Deep in her soul for being what she is,

A woman

But she shall fight

For her daughter shouldn’t…..

Life is hard. I told my kids. Three girls. Travel, have fun and test life. There will be time for work, marriage and kids. I raised four children. I haven't left my state in 5 years. Today woman are making more than the men. I understand the poem. I desire a long vacation to some wild places before I'm too old to care. Thank you for the excellent poetry. Open the door to a long conversation.

thank you for the wonderful review ...
Break out .. be free .. but always remember "responsibility" ...

I worked and raised a family .. never felt trapped ..

I did have to give up some things .. but the rewards, gawd

They were grand !
