Animal Rights

Animal Rights

A Poem by Ewen A Morrison
"

Title, says it all!

"

If not yours, maybe mine -

can’t be 'ours', that is fine;

owns what - 'where’s it at'?

animal rights, like the cat!

Property is nine tenths law -

'unkind cut'- take it on jaw...

animals don’t follow rules:

'Natural Instincts',  no tools.

So, you just can’t steal it!

you may have to ‘deal-it’...

like pets, don’t carry cash;

wealthy, but have no 'stash'.

The 'Give or Take' can do -

dealing freely, frankly too...

but in hunger, eat as need:

our larder is natures feed.

In 'Domicile', safe I’ll sleep -

in 'fond love', me they’ll keep...

'each-for-each' is the norm;

good natural bond will form
