StrandedA Poem by Agonizing Clarity
Hurt and confusion swells up inside me
the tide of pain swelling and shrinking against the beach of my heart. The waters are black. The footprints you left are slowly being washed away as I pick up what little pride I had left. Your affection had tricked me those delicate words of yours the sparkle in your smile the waver of nervousness in your voice the tenderness there had fooled me into thinking I was actually worth something I said you were different from the rest I had high hopes for you My mistake, My mistake. Your answers to my questions changed often and I often wondered If I was good enough for you and you told me I was you told me I was When you picked me up after I fell I praised hallelujah I found you but even if you were the special someone just for me It was quite obvious I wasn't for you My fault. My flaws. I told you my secrets and opened my heart to you I broke the seas to find you only to stumble across someone who didn't want me to stay
