And as you entered, my heart sank as deep as a thumb’s length down my chest, while the air became stagnant and hard to breathe. I bite my lip and carve my own flesh with my nails. I die as you walk past me, just to revive with the floral aroma of your being and try with my strength and beyond to prevent my eyes from hanging towards you. I fail. They lose their path and try to hold you with just the sight as you sit on the other side of the classroom. Yet your indifference makes my heart sink all the way to the bottom of my right foot, so I slam it on the floor in a futile attempt to kill it. You notice. And as I swallowed the dry regret down my throat, I realize that it’s oh so very hard to love, but it’s much harder not too.
Jesie -
How wonderful to be young and feel that glow of love even though it is unrequited. I have been there many times, in an earlier age. Try as you might it stays with you until you finally draw up the courage to go and say,"Hello my name is Jesie." See what happens. - Take care - Dave

Jesie,
It's not easy to put ones' heart out there, but you did a darn pretty good job of it. The honesty in revealing your feelings is pretty neat. I really liked it.
You did very well. You expressed need and want. Ending with honest ending.
"You notice. And as I swallowed the dry regret down my throat, I realize that it’s oh so very hard to love, but it’s much harder not too. "
I did like the above line. Real life and hard lesson for the most of us. Thank you Jesie for sharing the excellent poem.
