Hippietism

Hippietism

A Poem by iTryToWriteAllTheTime
"

I know a few old hippies.

"

Sad music

Out of tune

Guitars and

Shaggy stringy

heads. Sleeve-

less jackets.

Music echoes

In lost souls.

Broken watch

Though you

Still get older,

Don't you?

What a beautiful era the 60's to early 70's was and you have captured so much of those years in this excellently penned poem. So much said with so few words about the times back then and sadly, yes we aged and left those days of magical enchantment behind us, but the memories live on and we still look back to yesterday and remember. "Music echoes in lost souls". I love this phrase, it encapsulates so much about those wondrous days which will never be repeated in the history of the world. Thank you for writing and sharing this extraordinary poetic gem! I so enjoyed reading it and the trip I went to down "Memory Lane" as a result. Amazing write, dear poet...
