MY CORE

MY CORE

A Poem by AGHANTI

At the core of my soul

In the depths of my existence

In this complete stillness

Where the darkness blinds and the silence deafens

I see and I hear clearly

At the core of my soul

Where lies do not exist and truth is absolute

My conscience sits on a throne forged in iron

At the core of my soul

Where I dine with the truth

Untouched by the conforming

mirrored projection of my outward self

craving acceptance in an uncivil civilization

At the core of my soul

Where things unspoken are the loudest

and my deepest secrets are bond in chains

and locked in cells littered with guilt

At the core of my soul is peace

At the core of my soul is chaos
