I strive to arrive

I strive to arrive

A Poem by AGHANTI

I strive to arrive

My budding thoughts of emancipation

are drowned in the soil of ignorance

The obsession of who I am

Is trapped in the reality of who I have become

My tabernacle of flesh and blood

is weary from this sojourn

But I am yet to arrive

So I strive

I press on

One step at a time

towards the bridge of alteration

Distraction stands a few feet away

beckoning me to the warmth of her embrace

I shiver

As the reality of the blistering cold

in this arena of solitude overwhelms me

Reason eludes me

My will wavers

My resolve weakens

She's beautiful

The gratification of my desire

I begin to make my way towards her

I melt in her embrace

Her warmth

She whispers in my ear

She says everything is going to be alright

Then gently

She leads me away from the bridge

In the other direction
