A Poem by Correspondence

People want the truth

But never want the scars

"You're crazy."

"You need help."

Do they scare you?

These stories on my arms?

Then don't ask me how I am doing

"I'm doing fine."

Just doesn't cut it

Get it?

Cut it?

No

Saying, "You know, I'm really not all that great,"

Might cut it

Etch it into my skin

It's funny how
Our skin is such an ugly color

And yet
The stuff inside
Is what's beautiful

If only

It didn't kill us
When we poured it out

I mean,
It hasn't killed me yet

Very interesting, good poem about self harm.
"The stuff inside
Is what's beautiful

If only

It didn't kill us
When we poured it out"

I liked this part, deep.

Well done!
