The twilight hour, a period of many possibilities. Between the approaching darkness and the surreal pastel shades in the sky, one is truly left quite vulnerable to let wonder, desire and temptation in to their mind, .."She". "She" not a mere person but the regret, the pain, the excitement, the loss, the overwhelming sensation of love, fear or remorse that we camouflage so well in the bright sun light, that peaks in these fragile hours.
We are both inspired and bewildered by the euphoria of the hour, an "awakening", a realisation a spiritual moment.. that we let her in.. wondering all the what ifs, missed opportunities, past mistakes, lost lovers, lost connections.. letting your imagination go wild.."we cease to beheld to worldly ties"
And sometimes in our weakest of moments, we let her "nullify" us, we act on these feelings, our impulses throwing caution to the wind and risk the crumbling of the usual familiar, they system that works.. call your lost love and say that you still love him, buy the biggest bouquet of flowers for your wife..drive over to your mothers house to give her the longest hug, or tell your high school nemisis that you have forgiven him..
Some of us turn to silent words etched on paper with a heavy hearted pen, that result in beautiful pieces of work on Writes Cafe :)
Thank you for sharing your gift with us. I was so inspired. Beautifully written.

She sounds like she's everything that a man could desire... a She that could entice the moon to rise... a wonderfully penned quatrain formatted poem... with latitude that lingers in thought of... She is my all.
Well penned my friend a very enjoyable read.

wow, Aethereal, this one... well all I can muster is a wow. Smooth and silky words of sentiment over a divine beauty... must be a vision to behold to elicit such words from you.
"then we cease to be
held to worldly ties
as reality
begs the moon to rise"
Gorgeous... dumbfounded by the loveliness of your words. well done as always. I think I am going to tuck this one away in my favorites to bring out again when the heart needs it's strings tugged on...lol

This poem flows really well would work well as song thats not taking awaty from its pure poetic beauty.then we cease to be
held to worldly ties
as reality
begs the moon to rise" like this line. The stars watched without moving.
Nothing seemed to move anywhere. Thats my own weak attempt. good write

I’m thrilled that you described my poem in the light of a van Goth painting since I’m Dutch American, and my mind never strays too far from the artistry of my Dutch ancestors.
Wonderful depiction of a love figure at the twilight.
I specially enjoyed the clever use of the mathematical term,"the nth degree".
Thanks for sharing the natural piece.

It's only natural that I should do so since I'm a Mathematician. I could write Mathematical poetry, but few would know what I’m talking about. Differentiable Manifolds, Real Analysis, Fuzzy Logic, Topological Synergisms, and Group Theory would make no sense to most people.

Yes,Differentiable Manifolds, Real Analysis, Fuzzy Logic, Topological Synergisms, and Group Theory would make no sense to most people.
However, you can write Mathematical poetry in practical real life story as you did in this poem.Mathematics is a part of life which is used in day to day activities in many diverse forms.
Welcome, Mathematician Poet!!!
There is a great song that says "Because the night belongs to lovers", and there is no greater love affair then that with the mysteries of night. An Enchanting little poem.

Thanks for your review! All the pretty moonlit muses come out to play at night under the stars.
i feel the muse in twilight...i know, because she comes to me in ink that is free...she fulfills fantasies, dreams, hope...but also reminds me of the ones that have been dashed like rocks on a violent seashore.
nicely done, Aethereal.
