Emotions inspire time loops of endearment. In short, everything is just a flow of information. The source of all this information is a mystery. We are information.

If Time Travel is possible in the far future, then the big questions of Human History would be investigated. If there are any ancient records of Columns of Fire or Whirly-gigs in the sky , then this would be indicative of that attempt. Because of the Butterfly Effect, they would not be able to change history without destroying themselves, so only they would know the truth. They would make Human History work in such a way so as to ensures their survival.
Now that is an interesting thought - your concept would make a great sci-fi Christmas story, Aethereal! Merry Christmas!
