Very enjoyable read. The words allow one to see as though she were Adriana. I always like to think there is more in this than meets the eye...and as such I can imagine a catastrophe in Adriana's life that is represented by the lightening bolt. Deserted, she is swimming alone in a sea of hopelessness, but her determination and strength of character, so typical in a woman, allows herself to pull through and to end up with hope and a future. What a wonderful write and read. Thanks.

I got the phrase ‘slings and arrows’ from Shakespeare.
An analogy for the lives of many of us! I like the way you leave it open ended. Perhaps in imagining Adriana's future some of us might fix our own!
Lovely poem.

Everyone finds themselves in a struggle as some time or another. We all have open ended lives, for life is a gamble where our cards are only shuffled once, and Jokers are Wild.

Too true! We can but develop coping strategies that suit us
Dramatic sea story, Aethereal! These are one of my favorite kinds of poems. I wonder what will happen to Adriana now? Angi~

It's possible that she meets the love of her life on this tropical island while fighting cannibals, and pirates. For now, I’ll leave her stretched out nude on the beach as cannibals approach from the distance, hungry cannibals.
What an intriguing story teller you are! Very nice, my friend!

..you're very welcomed, my pleasure!
This is just beautiful my friend, I listened to your words, and had a song in my mind... that does your cadance always, it's matematical, and full of the right rhythm.
I listened to this piece, while your words would fit in perfectly, if you follow it slowly,

It could be even a song then... so beautiful...
I hear you always :) thank you for sharing such a great sea poem!
Once I did a North-Sea series on this musician, it's further in my library.
You always write with your whole musical heart.
Extra info: I love the name, my dad's name is Adriano

This poem reads somewhat like an epic song of adventure, and if continued perhaps a tropical island song of romance as well. Perhaps ancient Greek poems sung this way when they were read aloud in their native tongues to the tune of harps and pipes in romantic classical garden get-a-ways?
