Gort

Gort

A Poem by Aethereal
"

Gort returns to Earth on Judgement Day.

"
Gort

Graceful orb that I once knew,
pristine seas where breakers roar,
coddled green immersed in blue,
what you've lost I'll soon restore.

I've come with my retinue
from my galaxy next door
to judge life that I once grew
on my visit here before.

I've brought with me my small crew
of technicians who explore
distant stars for homes anew
where keen life may breed and soar.

But, my hopes have gone askew.
Now, you're toxic to the core.
What I've grown I must undo.
I don't love you anymore.

You told me this might offer a clue to your true identity. The long time question of who and what came first a hen or an egg . Or in my quest a rooster or a chick . Not much clue here either other the last line which says " I don't love you anymore " ...

You are more than meets the eye ...
"the day the earth stood still" is one of my favorite classic sci fi movies of all time. i like the original best, but the remake with Keanu is fairly good. when i saw the title of this i could not resist reading, and i am glad i did read this....it is excellent!

Thanks, quinfinn! The term Gort only seems to attract those who have seen the movie.
