Ghetto

Ghetto

A Poem by Aethereal
"

About trouble in the ghetto.

"
Ghetto

Underneath the ghetto sky
to the East and to the West
mothers watch their young men die,
stragglers from an empty-nest.

Stressed out victims getting high
on a street that knows no rest
help seductive buzzards ply
forlorn children as their guest.

Gangster cars go flying by.
Violent skills are put to test.
Pulsing bullets start to fly.
One girl gets it in her chest.

Toddlers and their mothers cry.
Men go on a vengeful quest,
demons who personify
evil at its very best.

I really enjoyed the rhyme scheme. It was a simple poem, but it painted a picture of the troubles that affect the ghettos of the world. Nice work.
