Hespera

Hespera

A Poem by Aethereal
"

Poem about Hespera, Goddess of Dusk. This is a Classical poem.

"
Hespera

There's a momentary hush
in the gloaming of the day
when Hespera tends to blush
at Apollo's final ray.

Here's when Gaea's artful brush
paints her purple hue's of gray
overtop that rosy gush
where the sunbeams interplay.

Events seem to halt their rush,
Mars and Venus stay at bay
when the twilight sky is flush
with Hespera's graceful sway.

Then, Selene brings her lush
amber beams to full display
underneath the stellar crush
of the streaming Milky Way.

You are fascinated by Greek Mythology as well. There's one writer here that writes more about Greek and Egypt mythology as her muse... I think she still goes by the pen name of Belle. She is very good and talented writer.

It is beautifully penned. A little bit harder for me to grasp for the words and thoughts were so deep. Are you referring to the glow and lights of the sky or the zodiacs

At least we have some movies in common. Sooner or later you'll get to the poem "Gort".
with this you paint the gods so well

Thanks, Rose! I really understand why ancient Greeks love them the way they did.
Well, I absolutely love mythology, and I tend to use it quite frequently (believe Selene made an appearance in my last posted piece). This is beautifully written and Hespera is a great muse when it comes to writing about nature and the emotions of day to night. Soft and sublime imagery. Well done.
