Eternal MeadowsA Poem by AetherealThe defeat of human civilization by the meadow.Eternal Meadows
Overtop a distant sky of times yet to be
was a most discerning eye
lending sight to me.
I beheld its burning ray penetrating soot and fray.
As dark temporal clouds passed by, I could clearly see
architectures grow then die,
order bred debris.
Mighty structures fell away. Layered fossils bit the clay.
Life refused to multiply in this toxic sea.
Birds had lost their will to fly
nesting their last tree.
Toxins build before they slay underneath their deadly sway.
Mending what had gone awry, meadow, bird, and bee,
Earth ditched her last human tie
setting herself free.
Earth deserves a holiday from rude whelps who disobey.
