Eternal Meadows

Eternal Meadows

A Poem by Aethereal
"

The defeat of human civilization by the meadow.

"
Eternal Meadows

Overtop a distant sky
of times yet to be
was a most discerning eye
lending sight to me.

I beheld its burning ray
penetrating soot and fray.

As dark temporal clouds passed by,
I could clearly see
architectures grow then die,
order bred debris.

Mighty structures fell away.
Layered fossils bit the clay.

Life refused to multiply
in this toxic sea.
Birds had lost their will to fly
nesting their last tree.

Toxins build before they slay
underneath their deadly sway.

Mending what had gone awry,
meadow, bird, and bee,
Earth ditched her last human tie
setting herself free.

Earth deserves a holiday
from rude whelps who disobey.

This is beautiful again Aethereal . One of the most invasive species that ever inhabits the earth was man . Man also alters and changes everything that it touches and anything within its path . The earth was never the same then .Totally changing its landscape . No wonder Native American Indians were more eco friendly back then but was not able to adapt to change. So they too went extinct . I mean their culture and way it thing and way of life . Taking only what you need from earth so it could reproduce and replinish itself again . The way we consume our resources are unsustainable . Won't be long it will all be grass and meadows when humans ran out of place and space to devour . I like your concept here Aethereal .
