First Love

First Love

A Poem by Aethereal
"

A poem about the loss of a loved one.

"
First Love

Flowers kissed the morning dew.
Sunrise blessed us with its cheer
when I first set eyes on you,
in the Springtime of that year.

Butterflies fled their cocoons.

We had passions to pursue
over coffee and cold beer
as we shared our points-of-view
in the Summer of that year.

Eager monarchs swarmed the dunes.

Playfully we'd rendezvous
where leaves touched the atmosphere
with mixed colors that subdue
in the Autumn of that year.

Caterpillars formed half-moons.

Fatally without a clue
came a time of death and fear
reaping the first love I knew
in the Winter of that year.

Over snows, soft wings were strewn
.

it was so good to "fly" with you up into the open and clear sky, holding hands and smile
slowly glide down like autumn leaves, only to sense tragedy upon landing in the snows

the french translation is "les feuilles mortes" (the dead leaves)
please tell me it ain't so...

Sweet, sad and beautiful. I loved the atmospheres you offered because they encapsulated the imagery of the relationship.

You are a sweet sweet creature.
I was drawn to this first posted piece and just sampling it . It's already a masterpiece from amediocre point of view . I knew right from the start there's something very special and unique about you and here it is in just the first bite and first taste of your piece with exploding flavors overwhelming my taste buds and palate .I have searched and browsed the internet for the best butterfly poem in the world but yours didn't show up on the search engine and this one really eclipsed the best one out there .

I do love representation of the butterfly interwoven with the changes of time and season in our life . Butterflies are one of the most beautiful insects in the world . They are also the most delicate and tender insects and their gossamer wings can so easily be damage . Their life cycle were also so short and brief .They are here for a moment and life a buble gone forever . Perhaps you may have associated the life cycle it amonarch butterfly with the temporality of human life and our brief existence . This piece was so beautifully penned and expressed in reflective way . Your piece breathtakingly made a great impression . What's more out there . Is this just a tip of the iceberg?

This sounds so much like poem 'a love for all seasons' and those solitary lines which mark the time of the year. This is a wonderful piece of work. well they say great minds think alike.
