~'Tis Summer~A Poem by Aethelwyne'Tis Summer. Songs of
waves and hymns of streams are scattered. A lump
entwined they shape. 'Tis
Summer. Taste
the briny drops that sink upon your sun-kissed skin. The
secrets of the ocean hear, as they lie hidden in the
depths of bitter exaltation. 'Tis
Summer. Let my
fingers lace your slender neck, a chaos of dark clay to disclose. But are
you brave enough to lay an ear? 'Tis
Summer. And the
harmony is restored against the bulwarks in the
red horizon. Tears of
fears unspoken release the bottled years. Years
written into scrolls, washed onto the shore. 'Tis
Summer. And the
salted rain will douse away my sins. And
purify my soul, until new ones find
their way to me.
