Paint (Or Lack Thereof)A Poem by KaiOldie. Written after falling in love with an illusion.Paint
(Or Lack Thereof) You
painted me a picture It spoke
more than you ever I could
have sworn I saw you make those strokes Dip the
brush in the paint Touch it
to the canvas Smile at
me And then
repeat the process Each
color was so vibrant Each
emotion was so blatant Or so I
believed Because
that's how you were You told
me nothing Left me
to infer And I
was entranced It was a
fantasy world It
ensnared me My
inhibitions left me And I
stepped into the painting But I
realized I was alone You had
stayed in Reality So I
looked closely At the
beautiful surroundings Just as
all the colors began to bleed Mixing
together To form
a puddle on the floor Leaving
behind black and white And an
empty canvas You were
gone The
brushes left behind Unused Untouched So I picked
one up Dipped
it in the paint Touched
it to the canvas Smiled
to myself And
created my own world This
painting would last Because
I never really needed you I only
need myself © 2013 KaiAuthor's Note
