Faery KnowledgeA Poem by Amanda
I sit beside the little creek
Feet dangling in clear l’eau;
Blue eyes all dreamy as I think
Of things the faeries know.
How to change little copper leaves
To cloth made of bright gold;
And bring the stars high in the sky
Down so that I might hold
Their brilliance and pure sweetest light
A-twinkling in my hands;
As I, with eyes wide and amazed,
Regard them, many as sand.
And wonder, as I watch them slide
Between my fingers, down
To rest upon the moonlit earth
And lay all on the ground,
If all the faeries in this world
Can make the earth so bright,
And make me feel like I could fly
Just as they do, tonight.
