Quietus Dreaming Part One: Dead Wings of Butteflies

Quietus Dreaming Part One: Dead Wings of Butteflies

A Poem by Aenigmakil

From the moment I
Looked into its eyes
Profound were the feelings
The meanings without meaning

Dead wings of butterflies
Flutter beneath my eyes
The truth, it flirts with pain
Seduced by suicidal gain

I’m content with dying alone
I’ve lived a life for which I cannot atone
All that’s left is a life of misery
A life that’s filled with the death of me

Standing still as I
Run laid down, I die
Death dreams a dream of death
Day’s nightmare is all that’s left

Staring through funeral eyes
At the body that can’t arise
Those wings, they were mine
Before silently I died

Discontent with dying alone
I’ve lived a life for which I’ve tried to atone
All that was left was a life of misery
Now wings flutter around the death of me

Goodnight...

I really like this, can empathise also to an extent. Intriguing way of wording, I like this line in particular- Seduced by suicidal gain, well written.
