Walking alone in the forest
Talking to no one but trees
I feel my mind
Slowly slip into ease
All alone in my thoughts
Safe from outside fears
Only cathartic wind
Will kiss my stale tears
The Girl:
Too sweet for this world
Watch this emptiness unfurl
Vacant thoughts will subside
I’m so sorry, but I…
You can never, ever be mine
The Caterpillar:
And I die
For every moment I feign being alive
For Her smile,
It cuts just like a knife
And I dive…
Into the very substance that dissolves
The essence of this
So called life?
And she’s mine…
Every time I close my eyes…
If only I could...
The Girl:
Too sweet for this world
Watch this emptiness unfurl
Vacant thoughts will subside
I’m so sorry, but I…
You can never, ever be mine
The Caterpillar:
Solitude’s bride
All dressed in white
The stain of my blood
Looks pale black in her night…
All alone in her thoughts
Safe from inside fears
Only the equation of naught
Will reduce thy tears
If only I would…
The Girl:
Too sweet for this world
Watch this emptiness unfurl
Vacant thoughts will subside
I’m so sorry, but I…
You can never, ever be mine…
The Caterpillar:
And I’d died
Within that moment I’d dreamt
She was mine.
Her smile,
I saw it though I was blind
Did I survive?
Or is this moment within the deceased mind
Sequences where tomorrow is already old
Stories of the future already told
My existence now
A shoebox holding memories
Of the tears I’m about to shed
And she’s mine…
Every time I close my eyes I become her butterfly.
