The Sad Truth

My friend wanted me to write o poem about cheating and i have a good guess this is how it would b for her... pretty self-explanatory

Together forever
Or so I thought
Your lies were priceless
Yet I bought

Thinking they're the truth
And only the truth
Sweet truth
There was no truth
***
You held me in your arms
There, I felt secure
Your flawless charms
Is what grew me near
***
So why am i still here?
I found you there
There caressing her
I heard your sadistic purr
***
Such a sweet sound
That left me bound
To you
And only you
***
But she wanted you too
***
You were left with a choice
It's me or her
Smiling, you kiss me
I rejoice
***
You choose me over her
My heart swells with emotion for you
You said you loved me
I loved you too
***
A love so pure
One only you could conjure
This dream is so sweet
I never want to leave

Time passes and I love you more
For all the good times galore
I wake up with desire
I rest within great dreams

Such a cheerful smile tugs
At my lips
It dissolves with one kiss
But not upon my lips
***
I thought you had let her go
But there you are
Embracing her
Like you embraced me
***
I'm done
It's over
I've lost, she's won
You're nothing to me

You've hurt me beyond repair
I though your love was rare
I guess I was wrong
And I thought I had loved you

But the sad truth is....

This was so sad a struggle for love.. and to be found in the arms of another that has clearly taken advantage of two souls.. in the end no happiness to be found! I could feel the passion and hurt ringing through this.. for you to find the truth in living colour in this story.. I could not even fathom the pain that would bring but I know it would be horrendous if reality in life.. seen others struggle with this!

It's the fear coming alive that we all have deep down inside in relationships.. that we have to balance with trust, respect and devotion.. being left with devotion and feelings but no longer the trust or love.. very moving. There is more than one way to be cheated on and hurt.. this would certainly be right up on top though! Very well penned and clear to read and feel the emotions of what one would feel to experience that level of pain.. leaving the reader (me in this review) wishing the one hurt to heal and find that true happiness with the right person. Great job!
