Alone

I still remember

that one time

when you told me

I'd never be alone

Then it happened

you left me 

for good

forever

I was shut off 

in the dark

waiting for you to

come back

but I realized

it would never happen

you were already long gone

and I was already alone

Awww. That's sad to here. However, people are never truly alone. I feel like I am alone quite alot, but I have those certain people who are always by my side, and always there for me. That is why I'm never truly alone. I may not be in a relationship, but there is still people that make me feel like I'm not alone. I'm sure there is someone that you have who is the same for you.

Thank you for your kind words. I wasn't talking about a relationship gone bad. My best friend's brother died a few weeks ago when I wrote this poem, and I just wanted to put her sadness into something that everyone could relate to.
Thanks again for the creative insight and showing me the other way that people could interpret this poem! :)

You're very welcome and I'm sorry to hear that that has happened, it is always a truly sad time to lose someone so close to you, in your best friend's case, it was her brother. :(

Those who have ever been in a relationship - a serious one, mind - and then have that end in a year or so know exactly where you're trying to go with this certain piece. Your poem may be short but it was long enough to make me recall... a certain girl that gave up on me and, no, I didn't do anything. I wasn't the bad guy and was left to wonder what happened to us. It was simple really; nothing happened. She was JUST done. But, ahem, enough of that dramatic crap. Lol, if you hadn't noticed, I suppose your work really got to me. Therefore, good work. Seriously. Also, I enjoyed this. I truly did. Keep up that creativity as well as good work. :)
