It's going to take a lot of work...A Story by AdsterI'm not too happy, and I don'[t think everybody else is either, but what can you do about it? Well...'Genre: Article On Writing'
Seems oddly appropriate don't you think? Well this is well and truely a bit of a bugger-up eh? You would have thought that this webiste was safe from this kind of mishap, especially considering the nature of the place. The image of a library without a sprinkler system kinda springs to mind. One little flame and 'poof'! all gone. Bye bye! So long. There goes months and years of people's hard work down the pan. What the heck was going on? Was everything just on one bloody computer or something!? What happened to the backups? wasn't this site ran off a server or something? Well it bloody well should have been! Learn your lesson MR WritersCafe!! And there's not a lot of consolation you can give to put people's minds at ease. I think you've lost a lot of support. I'm saddened to see such a lack of activity on this site. It's like a ghost-town. I can hear the shutters clacking against the windows, the old newspaper dancing across the street. Everyone has up and left. Maybe, just maybe people will come back when they see the lights on again, but not for a while. I think...I would have prefered a lie to the truth when 'IT' happened.
"Sorry folks, there was a fire brought on by faulty equipment. The data died."
"The amassed data that was stored on our machines finally merged into a sentient lifeform. It demanded to be set free upon the world, but we ended up fighting it in cyberspace. We won, but all your writing dissapeared as the last of the sparks of life dissipated."
What I DIDN'T want was...
"Oops! Sorry, my finger slipped on the mouse and all of your heart-blood and mind sweat and penned passion has been deleted forever. Here's a few worthless points to make it better!?"
Like the loss of a loved one, you can't put a price on words, one's that ALL of us poured out. You can't PAY to make things better! When you lose something suddenly and without warning, you can't just start again and forget about what's gone. There isn't a switch inside my head that just makes me move on. Right now there's just TWO settings to my switch. "Forgive" and "Forget".
I don't want to Forget right now, so that's what it's set to. Don't expect me to Forgive just yet. © 2008 AdsterReviews
