Hidden.

Hidden.

A Poem by Jamie Davis

Look in the mirror and see a fake smile,
It seems beautiful, honest and innocent,
Nothing seems out of place,
Nothing seems out of the ordinary.
Look into the shining eyes,
They seem full and bright,
Nothing seems out of place,
Nothing seems out of the ordinary.
Look at the girl staring back in the mirror,
You can't tell she's putting on a performance,
It isn't obvious that she's hurt,
She seems perfectly content with the world around her.
It's not obvious her smile is hiding truth,
It's not obvious that shine in her eyes are mournful tears,
She's just an ordinary girl,
Trying to blend in and now show that she's bleeding on the inside.
