Globe Trotter

Globe Trotter

A Poem by Girl, Interrupted
"

for M

"

I’d love to be like you have been
Over this past extended year
Collecting different kinds of Earth in the
Creases of your shoes and under your nails
And still-frames in that pricey camera of yours
Kissing the cheeks (maybe lips?)
Of your new friends, your
Branches growing up and out in invitation
Networking empty sincerity in your personal connections
While remaining disconnected enough to leave
Every single time.
It’s not that you’re insincere, it’s just
You love only to a degree.
I’d like to do that,
I’d love to be that kind of free.

Wow...this was heart-centered...opens up the flash and dash that goes with the 'modern' web-friendships.

Truly enjoyed your poem.
