Dreaming of You

Dreaming of You

A Poem by AJ TheSnowMan

Surrounded by all the evil
I see in myself
For seeing the negative
The bad I feel in you
The aspects I hate about you
Its getting to me
Eating at me
I can't stand it
I've had enough
Close it, close it just leave me
But how, oh but how!!

There's a reason I took off
Into the arms of the replacer
A light that shined deemed right
Oh so bright by me
You got on my nerves
But I held in so many years
You've got it back now
You're sucking me in
You're black hole
Let, me, go!!

Why oh why I say,
Why am I dreaming of you!
Why are you in my dreams!
Why don't you leave!

Is there something that must be done?
Just tell me now before I go insane!

My life is now by hers I say,
Now, now, now I say my life is hers now I say
Now, now, now I'm with her
Oh right now what do I say
What can I do
I won't tell cause' she won't believe me
It's you who needs to get out
It's you who needs to escape my brain
But why oh why are you in putting a strain!

Why oh why I say,
Why am I dreaming of you!
Why are you in my dreams!
Why don't you leave!

Is there something that must be done?
Just tell me now before I go insane!

Thanks for reading its alright if you dont comprehend not everyone will :P
Very eerie poem. Yet, its something not discussed often in writing. The idea that we are constantly plagued by someone or something that once meant so much to us, but now is something that we despise. Funny how the human brain works. I can imagine the character within this work's pain. I think for the most part anyone can relate to the pain of constant images of something we now loath more than ever. It's almost as if it is taunting one's self, to the point of insanity. However, on the brighter side, I don't know if you intended for hope within the second to last sentence, but I think it's a summation subconsciously of this idea. I feel when these images reoccur your heart hasn't completely healed. I think maybe the character within the work is longing to have some closure, therefore resulting in the images being plastered in the most intimate and mysterious part of human behavior, our dreams. I think that the closure could simply be, one last visit to talk, and the character explain exactly what occurs within the dreams. And release the lasting feelings that could still be there, especially if the character has moved on. Once again nice work buddy.
