In the essence of silence
So sudden..so dear
In the patch of the past
Stitched up..but left open

A thought can travel back
In a portal so easy to fall through
Flashbacks switch back to the present
Now hasn't happened yet
Stuck in a time frozen by life
A memory you cannot relive again

In that moment of silence
The portal opens up
Your body a souless shell
As your mind travels away

I see what I had
How it was in the beginning
So sweet and innocent
So much love and full of grace

I see what it became
How I ended up treating you in the end
So much hate and confusion
So much lost emotions

Throughout the years a new love will come
But I do think of what we were
