Spiraling

Spiraling

A Poem by Christian Renz

How can we continue?
Why must we strive?
Who can we look to?
When the last person who sought us.
No longer needs a crutch.

When all those who we thought needed us.
Turn out to me shadows.
How can I make you look at me?
When I am nothing.
Look at him. God I want him, how can you resist?
When I am his lackey.
When I can’t keep in his stride.

Spiraling in.
Loosing all of you.
Even that feeble bit that you promised me.
Is that alright with you?
Of coarse it is, I was a fool to ever think otherwise.
Why am I thinking of you?
When I still remain with the other.
Wrapped in delicious ecstasy.
Perhaps I skipped something?

Maybe I shouldn’t blame him.
Perhaps. I should look inward.
How can I continue?
When you’re no longer by my side?
Why should I try?
When I no longer have open arms to come back to.
