The Scream

The Scream

A Poem by Christian Renz
"

the is my take on the Picture "The Scream"

"

The hot, dry road went on beneath my feet. Dust came up between my toes
in a plume of brown. The tired day was coming to an end. Yet, peaceful it was not! A shrill wind came a blowing. Threatening to tear asunder our jackets. Forcing me to take my hat in hand.
An with that wind came torture and anguish. A piercing sound split the earth. A banshee cry, nay, a wail of agony. A torrent of emotion emit from the distance. A throbbing sound, like that of a gale’s. echoing around the freshly tilled fields. Perhaps it was the whispering of a thunder giant. But it’s not to be. Down the way, a man cried. Both hand upon his visage. “come my brother! Let us come and see what is the mater with this man who screams as though he was alight with flame.
