Lamentations of the Replaced.

Lamentations of the Replaced.

A Poem by Adownupadownup

I saw her with him.
For the first time.
She looked so happy.
I wound up crying.
My heart sank.
My soul shattered.
My will broke.
There's no hope.

I can tell,
in this, my own hell,
by the way she stares
That she really cares.
For him, I mean.
Never even me.
She laughed and I died.
It was never me.

I can see why you love him
he's better than me in almost every way
but I just wanted to say
to you, who committed this lovers' treason
That I still love you
for a myriad of reasons

I don't think you understand
what is truly at stake
cause even through
this ungodly heartbreak
if his love for you ever ceases
I can't promise
I'll be there to pick up the pieces.
