Weary Traveler

A poem inspired by my amazing neighbor and dear friend

 “Weary Traveler”

How many miles have your feet traveled?

A modern gypsy woman

So full of feeling, the wells run deep

Overflowing with every emotion.

You ankles wade through wild waters,

Brilliant laughter lights your way

Saying f**k it all while caring too much,

Every day a new ride on life.

Your eyes show wonder

            wisdom

            whimsy,

Energy and magic.

Your words offer guidance while your soul seeks advice,

Telling adventures with your lips--

Painting pictures with your spirit.

So much time spent waiting,

Never losing yourself on the way.

Tell me about the time you beat someone’s a*s

And I’ll be cheering you on in your tale.

A kindred spirit,

An angel sent down with horns,

Your life has been both high and low.

Take it easy now, dear wanderer.

Wash off those worn feet and rest.

The hardest parts now in your past,

It’s time to settle down.
