A Summer Song

A Summer Song

A Poem by Lee

Crumbled wild flowers by the bedside table,

Overhanging spray of a frenzied oil painting

Veiled panes in mama's handmade lace

Seeping sunlight trickling through the net,

An ignorant fly wandered by the dry petals

Looking for something sweet to calm the sticky weather,

Fooled by the distance

A mirage of the glittering rays

As a familiar symphony fills the void,

The buzzing fly performs its last dance

Escaping through the bride's eye.
