STANDING BEHIND THE CURTAINS...
Standing behind the curtains, Waiting for your arrival, I used to hide myself there, Oh papa, you are finally here, To pounce on you, grab you and threaten you to surrender, Keeping the previous victories in mind, and not to make any blunder, Hoping for this, waited there, the little 5 year old, to show and flaunt that she was so bold, You screamed, you sobbed and Surrendered like a docile deer, These were my daily tantrums, which you got to bear, Making you close your eyes and eating from your plate, Claiming strongly that it was a monster Who just came and ate, We were a permanent team, you and I You used to get so hurt, whenever you saw me cry, Kissing me on my forehead, making me go tickled pink, Looking at me with so much love, without even a blink, I lay there holding your hand, Sleeping on your warm shoulder, Oh papa , it was the safest place, where I felt cold no longer, After that comfy sleep, the next day began, I made arrangements to run my daily errands, Standing again behind the curtains, Waiting for your arrival, I used to hide myself there, Oh papa, -Aditi Goyal © 2020 Aditi Goyal |
