Wind's song

Wind's song

A Poem by Adriana
"

I am the voice of the wind

"
I am the voice of the wind
The one you've forgotten
That sang lullabies to you as a child

Now I am singing a song of despair
Begging for some grown kid to remember
The soothing melodies of the sleepless nights

I am the song of the moon and the skies
The child who asked the cosmos all why's
Hear the wind's desperate cries

Adriana, I really like your poetry. I was very startled by Wind’s Song which I just read this morning because a few hours ago I posted a short short story titled Mother and one theme of the story is the language of wind and trees and how for decades they speak to one another. Then I read your poem and your heart spoke to my heart. Keep writing!

This is a great personification of the wind. I felt it when I swang in swings, It touched my cheeks softly when I ran, moved the flowers gently, and now we don't care much. Nights were the best, shivering cold yet I didn't care, was the only reason I was able to sleep.

I love this, Adriana!

this was a tear-jerker. it's mysterious on the surface, but i think it is about our inner-child. while we can receive unconditional love as a baby, we are deprived of that in adulthood, and instead of lullabies there are screams. very haunting, but it perfectly captures the reality of life. the wind, which is a symbol of our internal world was great -- it gave me goosebumps.

How quickly we forget the things that once soothed us. But every now and then, sometimes, we hear that sound we recognize and it makes our hearts do a little flutter and we remember. This was very poignant and emotional. Hopefully our inner child can still hear that wind.

Many a message I have heard carried on the wind. From a soft whisper to a moan. I enjoyed reading you today. Nicely penned. Thank you for sharing.

I liked this, something reminding me not to forget what I knew in younger days, well written.
