Fallen Solder

by Kristen Van Camp

my solder came home today

along with all his brothers

they all got off the plain today

but not all of them together

some got off and kissed there wives

others huged there mothers

but mine came off in a shiny box

no hugs for one another

the solders they all stud around

soluting there fallen brother

tears filling there eyes

never once making fun of each other

a friend, a leader, a brother to them all

giving his life

so they could come home to there wives and there mothers

a man that will be a hero in there eyes

tell again they meet each other

my solder he came home today

came home to stay forever.

Very sad, but good illustration of how people here are facing tragedy from the war. This is a very good poem, thank you for having me read it. It has been a while since I wrote a review on this site, but for you, I'd come back again. I'll chat with you soon. Great job again.

Richard.
