Lights Go Out.

Lights Go Out.

A Poem by Adelheid

I let you into my sanctuary;
I should have been prudent.
It’s supposed to be merry, right?
Conversely, a time of discovery turned bleak.
Deceptive happiness blinded clairvoyance.
Filthy hands took all remaining virtue.
My life left to chance.
When the lights go out, run!
