Why I Do

Why I Do

A Poem by Adelheid

I compare myself to you,

And those to your left and right.

I see my flaws in others excellence;

My worth is far from sight.

I weep for lack of confidence;

I am a prisoner in my judgments.

For those I see as sounder,

Destroys self-loving sentiments.

Tell me where do you go,

When all the enjoyment has run dry?

Tell me where do you go,

When there are no more tears to cry?

For I am resilient,

And I am capable.

Yet I am a defeatist,

And feeling unstable.
