Card Board Cut Out

Card Board Cut Out

A Poem by Adelheid

I was but a puppet,

A toy on a string.

Playing a part;

Soon to feel the sting.

To be a part of the crowd;

Hoisted on the shoulders of admiration.

Deprived of character;

My fate was in the hands of their deliberation.

The judgment was in;

Pain radiated from my core.

Alterations made in excess;

I am left reeling once more.
