THE 'ALL' OF DEATHA Poem by David AdedokunA poem about death, dedicated to a friend who lost his elder brother. It was inspired by my love for him.Sleep, that’s what many people will say Deep, some will add, as it extends farther Deep sleep- polite qualification, all sensations lost Feet, could just be six below ground surface Fleet! Everything happens speedily ‘Fleet feet’, moments spent will seem short The sun will go down in the middle of the day Night will come up with no moon to show the way The atmosphere will go mute; mouths will be shut- nothing to
say Precious loss, in its place there will be nothing to pay Dust, sent back to its source Lust and all manner of sins will be insignificant Must be tasted by all except otherwise ‘Just a second’ won’t work, once it’s here then it’s time to
go Will there ever be an end as this Where the best of wishes will be ‘REST IN PEACE’ Death ends Or, will there ever be a start out as this Where the best of wishes will be ‘DWELL IN PARADISE’ Death starts © 2017 David AdedokunAuthor's Note
