FOR YOU; FROM MEA Poem by David AdedokunA POEM TO PRAISE A NEWLY FOUND FRIEND OF MY HEARTEVEN in the
dark I’ll be able to spot you out That’s because
you do have a naked partner and you two ride on same cart If it’s hide-and-seek
don’t forget to keep inactive your larynx Cos that will
break d wings of all your hoax
When all
around you is bright Your face,
distinct at any slightest sight Also glaring
is your gait An action
that’s specifically your trait
Your
eyeballs pleasing and right Your dentition
perfect and white
Only to
discover, we are ‘birth-year’ mate But that
after me was you who came a bit late
Your
disposition has made you proverbial like the Star-Spangled Banner And of top quality
like the Bible’s Exodus’ Manna
I can describe
the scene on your face when you smile More expression
on the left-half, always broadcasting live Don’t ask me
how I got to know Cos I will
in return ask how many times you’ve smiled before my very globe
