The MoonA Poem by IncrivaThe poem depicts the surreal nature of people in Nigeria with different cultural backgrounds and idiosyncrasies. It shows the differing behaviours of people living in the same country
Abuja Here she is clothed in gowns of purple always eager to appear cream and supple dancing surreptitiously about our coffers to live luxuriously at the expense of others. Suddenly a knife is placed at her throat! so that corruption that once fed like a greedy monkey, now rethinks before she sucks in yes corruption once fed like a hungry monkey now rethinks before she sucks in. Delta Here she rages like a wounded bear wreaking havoc on temples and wells. spreading fear and desolation on the boulevard of broken dreams. Until her guns were taken in exchange for cash... Yet abodes are shamefully desecrated because a few freaks still live out of speed boats to pounce menacingly on innocent souls. A menace exacerbated by our inability to do justice and squash inequity. Sadly, nights are drenched with grief and mornings don’t see new leaves. Yes nights are drenched with grief and mornings don’t see new leaves. Kano Here she still charges with blind optimism like a wounded Lion spreading death to the innocent masses. wielding endless terror on thousands of helpless families. Tearing down dreams with vile passion yet sadly accommodated by cowards & weaklings. who call themselves rulers. While fire burns in the market square nobody dares to go home. Yes, while fire burns in the market square So nobody dares to go home till the hunter becomes the haunted. The moon is a mask dancing…
