Sands Over Time

Sands Over Time

A Story by Eurynome Addnexus

Out of focus, not a sight understood.

Vision a blur, wishing to grasp. Some unknown knowledge.

Yet that simply being the problem within itself.

Searching for the answer for so long, and though the true intention never met.

A Soul longing for a soft touch. Though to never feel such  a warm embrace.

As the mind is once aware, it must prevail, it must see clearly, the answer must be found.

The cold dry eyes blink once or twice, now shocked, as pleasant sensations fill the decrepit vessel.

A small happiness met, as hopes rise and warmth is sot out.

As for just a moment upon the old withered face, appeared a slowly trembling smile.

The moment so serene, as if awoken from a sweet dream. Only wishing it were real.

Clearly now he found his answer. The one his very heart burst at the very sight.

The hourglass standing so strongly upon the dark wooden table, in a dust covered room.

The last of the white soft sand, reflecting the dim light from the window, now shining so brightly.

The eyes lit with the spark of a small flame, burning ever so slightly, yet the flame yearning to be so much or than a mere sparkle..

As the last single, grain had fallen, the eyes close, the ember glow now gone. A gentle breezing passing through out the room As with one deepened
breath.

That warm gentle smile never leaving those dry cracking lips.

A crash to the ground was all that was heard. Yet happiness was the last emotion ever felt.
