A Lesson of Love

A Lesson of Love

A Poem by Adarsh

Lessons in my life though I had learned many
But not the one that was more important than any
Still a lesson there was that I had never learned
It was that of love, which in my heart had never burned

A seemingly meaningless life I lived
In woods of loneliness I did dwell
Yes, my heart still lay in dark
For love had yet failed to make its mark

Then one day...
In this withered garden flowers of love did bloom
And wiped out all of my life's gloom
I met an angel who conquered my heart
And hence my journey with love did start

From then on...
My heart doesn't beat, it just chants her name
And my breath whispers the same
My soul, that I once owned, is now her's
Sublime love for her in my heart, now I do nurse

Oh lord!
I thank you for preaching me...
A lesson which I always wanted to learn
And giving me...
A treasure that I always craved to earn!
